Basketball Recap: Albany Academy for Girls Comes Up Short

After flying high against La Salle Institute on Friday, Albany Academy for Girls came back down to earth. The Albany Academy for Girls Bears took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aquinas Institute Little Irish. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Little Irish are ranked second).

Albany Academy for Girls' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Aquinas Institute, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

When Albany Academy for Girls and Aquinas Institute next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Albany Academy for Girls will square off against Chenango Forks and their three-game winning streak at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Similarly, Aquinas Institute will try to stop St. Mary's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
