Volleyball Recap: Central Davidson Comes Up Short

If Central Davidson was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of North Rowan last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Lexington Yellowjackets on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.

While Central Davidson was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Lexington's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 25-23.

Central Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Lexington, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Central Davidson is set to face off against their familiar foe Jordan-Matthews at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lexington will square off against rival Gray Stone Day at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
