Football Recap: Cypress Ranch Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road + How To Watch

Cypress Ranch had won two straight road games and Jordan Ruth did his part to make it three on Friday. The Mustangs enjoyed a cozy 28-14 victory over the Cypress Woods Wildcats with plenty of help from Ruth, who rushed for 166 yards and one score while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.

One reason for the win was Cypress Ranch's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Ayden Combs refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Cypress Woods' side was Combs, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made 12 total tackles.

Cypress Ranch's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Cypress Woods, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cypress Ranch will head out to challenge Bridgeland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. As for Cypress Woods, they will head out on the road to square off against Cypress Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
