Basketball Recap: Baboquivari's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

On Tuesday, the Baboquivari Warriors lost to the Valley Lutheran Flames on the road by a 53-39 margin. The match marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Baboquivari lost, don't look at Cade Widener. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 17 on his way to 16 points along with eight boards and three steals. The contest was Widener's 24th in a row with at least ten points. Tahj Mease was another key player, putting up six points.

Caynan Chapman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds for Valley Lutheran. The dominant performance gave Chapman a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was John McLaughlin, who posted four points and nine boards.

Baboquivari's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10. As for Valley Lutheran, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Baboquivari didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-40 victory against The Gregory School on the 29th. Valley Lutheran has also already played their next contest, a 56-41 win against Hayden on the 30th.
