Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Wakefield Country Day's Third in Last Four Outings

While Wakefield Country Day has struggled at home with five straight losses, that wasn't the case on Thursday thanks to Alfredo Martinez. The Wakefield Country Day Owls enjoyed a cozy 62-44 win over the Fresta Valley Christian Pioneers thanks in part to Martinez, who went 11 for 17 en route to 25 points and six steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Wakefield Country Day's points.

Another player making a difference was Sean Han, who posted five points. What's more, he also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Wakefield Country Day is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Fresta Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Wakefield Country Day and Quantico will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Fresta Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
