Softball Game Preview: Longview Lobos vs. Rockwall-Heath Hawks

The Longview Lobos are taking a road trip to face off against the Rockwall-Heath Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Longview will be strutting in after a victory while Rockwall-Heath will be coming in after a loss.

Longview was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Tyler Legacy 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lobos have posted since February 22nd.

Meanwhile, Rockwall-Heath fell victim to Royse City and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 15-0 to the Bulldogs. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Hawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

This is the second loss in a row for Rockwall-Heath and nudges their season record down to 6-11. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Longview, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Longview skirted past Rockwall-Heath 5-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for Longview since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
