Baseball Recap: Madison Extends Winning Streak to Four

Madison waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Eastpointe Shamrocks get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Shawn Dennis made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Madison's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Landon Wargo was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Malachi Allen was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Madison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .727. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Madison's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Eastpointe, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
