Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Polar Bears vs. Perrysburg Yellow Jackets

The Jackson Polar Bears will face off against the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Jackson sitting on 18 straight victories and Perrysburg on five.

Jackson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Brunswick get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The Polar Bears' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

Meanwhile, Perrysburg made easy work of Ross on Monday and carried off an 11-0 victory. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Braxton Mefferd made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other pitching news, Preston Faris and Aaron Banks dominated on the mound. Faris pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Banks tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
