Basketball Recap: Ooltewah Falls Despite Big Games from Aleigha Taylor and Allie Tipton

Ooltewah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost to the East Hamilton Hurricanes on the road by a 47-28 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Owls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-30 two weeks ago.

Ooltewah's loss came despite strong showings from Allie Tipton and Aleigha Taylor. Tipton posted 13 points and eight boards, while Taylor put up seven points and five rebounds. That's the most points Tipton has posted since back in December of 2024. Delaney Aaron also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

East Hamilton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Arianna Calhoun out in front who had 17 points. Alexis Price was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Ooltewah's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for East Hamilton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Ooltewah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-51 win against McMinn County on the 3rd. As for East Hamilton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 33-27 loss against Soddy Daisy on the 4th.
