Basketball Recap: Eastside Catholic Comes Up Short

If Eastside Catholic was feeling good fresh off their 67-41 takedown of West Seattle last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eastside Catholic Crusaders took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roosevelt Roughriders on Friday. The Crusaders have struggled against the Roughriders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Roosevelt's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Curtis, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 14 points and six boards. Curtis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Clara Swanson was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Eastside Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Roosevelt, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastside Catholic will face off against Lakeside at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Roosevelt, they will challenge West Seattle at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
