It's playoff time, and Bartow had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Melbourne Bulldogs get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryleigh Knowlton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Hillman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Niamah Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The win (which was Bartow's tenth in a row) raised their record to 27-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Melbourne, the loss snapped their winning streak at 12 games and leaves them with a 27-2 record.

Coming up, Bartow is taking a road trip to challenge Doral Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The Yellow Jackets will need to watch out since the Firebirds have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests. Melbourne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
