Meanwhile, Maryland School for the Deaf had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They snuck past Mount Airy Christian Academy with a 40-36 win.
Marie Philip's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Maryland School for the Deaf, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Marie Philip was dealt a bruising 63-7 loss at the hands of Maryland School for the Deaf in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Marie Philip was down 37-7.
