It's playoff time, and Sherrard had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Mercer County Golden Eagles 7-0 on Wednesday. Considering the Tigers have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Aidan Terronez, who gave up just four hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep Mercer County off the board. Terronez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Harrison Curry was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Garrett Woodward, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Sherrard is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Mercer County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-18.
As of now, neither Sherrard nor the Golden Eagles have any future games scheduled.
