Basketball Game Preview: Bucksport Golden Bucks vs. Ellsworth Eagles

Bucksport hasn't had much luck against Ellsworth recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bucksport Golden Bucks will be playing at home against the Ellsworth Eagles at 2:30 p.m.

Bucksport is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Wednesday. They fell 51-44 to Presque Isle. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bucks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Wildcats are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, Ellsworth had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Riots by a score of 48-37.

Ellsworth's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Bucksport, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
