Baseball Recap: Mesquite Comes Up Short

Mesquite lost against Campo Verde back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Coyotes by a score of 11-10.

Andres Lozano led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Gift, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Campo Verde, their record now sits at 12-8.

Coming up, Mesquite will be playing at home against Arcadia at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Campo Verde, they will venture away from home to square off against Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Firebirds will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Coyotes surely won't give up without a fight.
