Basketball Game Preview: Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals vs. Garfield Bulldogs

The Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals and the Garfield Bulldogs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.

Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took a hard 77-60 fall against St. Francis.

Despite the loss, Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary got top-tier performance from Jose Padilla, who shot 49% from the field to rack up 51 points and four steals. Padilla is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Aldo Herrera, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, Garfield put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 38-33 W against South El Monte.

Garfield's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
