            Baseball Recap: Geneva Eagles vs. Conneaut Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            Geneva had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 4-9  on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with  a   13-8  win over the Conneaut Spartans. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

 Andrew Oros made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  struck out seven batters over  3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 5-for-5 with one  home run, four  runs,  and one  triple. That  home run was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Ryland Besco was  incredible,  going 2-for-5 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted since back in April of 2024.  Logan Rustic was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with three  RBI and one  run.
 Geneva  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conneaut struck out 11 times.
As for Conneaut,  they are  on  a  22-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16. On the bright side, the eight- run  performance marked their highest-scoring  contest to date.
 On Conneaut's side,  Gabe Ghiz was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Chetti Arcaro, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
Geneva will have a chance to go back-to-back against Conneaut: the pair will be back at it again later today.
