Volleyball Game Preview: St. Francis Golden Knights vs. Loyola Cubs

St. Francis is 0-4 against Loyola since April of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Golden Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Cubs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with St. Francis sitting on nine straight victories and Loyola on 13.

Last Tuesday, St. Francis earned a 3-1 win over Notre Dame (SO).

St. Francis had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Loyola got the win against Chaminade on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

One reason for the win was Loyola's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-17.

St. Francis' victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. As for Loyola, their win bumped their record up to 25-4.

St. Francis might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Loyola in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Golden Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
