Soccer Game Preview: Nederland vs. Barbers Hill

Nederland hasn't had much luck against Barbers Hill recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Nederland Bulldogs will welcome the Barbers Hill Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Nederland is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Port Arthur Memorial get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 13 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Port Arthur Memorial from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Avery Mathews led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Barbers Hill entered their tilt with Port Neches-Groves on Tuesday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Indians. The Eagles' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last seven matches.

Barbers Hill pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those seven games. As for Nederland, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
