Basketball Recap: Rocky River Skates Past Valley Forge with Ease

Rocky River waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the Valley Forge Patriots to the tune of 66-26. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for the Pirates this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rocky River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elizabeth Lang, who posted 14 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Olivia Dewey, who earned 13 points and six steals.

Despite the loss, Valley Forge still got an impressive performance from Gracie Kercher, who scored eight points.

Rocky River has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Valley Forge, they dropped their record down to 0-16 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Rocky River will host Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bay has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Valley Forge, they will square off against Westlake at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Valley Forge is facing Westlake at the right time seeing as Westlake is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
