Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gahr). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-13 victory over the Bellflower Buccaneers. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

Roman Acosta was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 135 yards and two TDs on only ten passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown. His passing game has become a key predictor of Gahr's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise. Jaidyn Backus was another key player, gaining 89 total yards and a touchdown.

Another reason for the win was Gahr's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Ogadi Metu with two.

Despite the defeat, Bellflower saw an underclassman step up: freshman Austin Miller rushed for 105 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries. Miller didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made four total tackles.

The win got Gahr back to even at 3-3. As for Bellflower, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Gahr will head out to take on Lynwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bellflower, they will welcome Firebaugh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
