Basketball Recap: Potomac School Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Sidwell Friends

Potomac School is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Sidwell Friends. The Potomac School Panthers came up short against the Sidwell Friends Quakers, falling 68-46. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Quakers this season, with their most recent loss being a 54-44 defeat back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Potomac School lost, don't look at Catherine Letendre. Despite the final result, she shot 50% from the field on her way to 16 points and six boards. Letendre is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Margit Crittenberger, who posted three points in addition to 11 rebounds and five steals.

Sidwell Friends' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayla Jackson, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Genesis Schneeberg was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds.

Potomac School dropped their record down to 17-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Sidwell Friends, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Potomac School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-44 win against St. Catherine's on the 25th. As for Sidwell Friends, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-62 victory against Bullis on the 23rd.
