Recap: Ocoee Knights vs. West Orange Warriors
It was a good run, but the Ocoee Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 42-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Orange. Ocoee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West Orange apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Micah Hannah, who scored 11 points along with eight steals. Hannah is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Triplett, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
It was another big night for Zoe Calvez, who scored 18 points for West Orange. That makes it three consecutive games in which Calvez has scored at least a third of West Orange's points.
Ocoee's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-5. As for West Orange, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Ocoee will square off against Lake Brantley at TBD on Wednesday. Ocoee is facing Lake Brantley at the right time seeing as Lake Brantley is stuck on a eight-game losing streak. West Orange will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Windermere on February 5th. West Orange has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
