Football Game Preview: Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks vs. Chipley Tigers + How To Watch

The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks are taking a road trip to challenge the Chipley Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chipley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Port St. Joe, who comes in off a win.

Port St. Joe is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Rutherford, posting a 54-20 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Tiger Sharks just coasted through the last quarter.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Corban Butts and Eli Harris. Butts rushed for 131 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries while Harris threw for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that strong performance, Butts is now averaging an impressive 104.7 rushing yards per game. Colt Patterson was in the mix as well, providing Port St. Joe with one score.

Port St. Joe didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Rutherford to a completion percentage of just 40%. The Tiger Sharks have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.6 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.6 in their last three games.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Chipley's offense. The game between the Tigers and Holmes County didn't end well, with the Tigers falling 16-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

The victory got Port St. Joe back to even at 3-3. As for Chipley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Port St. Joe against Chipley in their previous matchup back in November of 2015, as the team secured a 49-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tiger Sharks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
