Baseball Game Preview: Palm Harbor University Hurricanes vs. Seminole Warhawks

Palm Harbor University is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Seminole is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Palm Harbor University will host Seminole at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Tuesday, Palm Harbor University needed a bit of extra time to put away Largo. They won by a run and slipped past the Packers 3-2.

Meanwhile, Seminole narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Pinellas Park 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warhawks have posted against the Patriots since March 3, 2020.

Carter Dougherty looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Seminole's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Amerman, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Amerman hit this season.

Seminole has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. Palm Harbor University's victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
