Baseball Game Preview: Morehead Panthers vs. Reidsville Rams

Morehead has gone a perfect 10-0 against Reidsville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Morehead is taking a road trip to challenge Reidsville at 7:00 p.m. Morehead will be strutting in after a victory while Reidsville will be coming in after a loss.

Morehead was handed a 11-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Walkertown 7-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Tanner Rippey made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Rippey wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Reece Dunovant, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Dayln Hutchens also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Reidsville didn't have quite enough to beat McMichael on Friday and fell 8-7.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-6. As for Reidsville, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Everything went Morehead's way against Reidsville when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Morehead made off with a 15-5 win. Does Morehead have another victory up their sleeve, or will Reidsville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
