Baseball Recap: Slocomb's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Slocomb's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Wicksburg Panthers by a score of 5-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red Tops as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Wyatt Reeder made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Reeder was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Slocomb is undefeated when Reeder posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise.

Reeder wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Hatton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Slocomb's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Wicksburg, they moved to 14-8 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coming up, Slocomb will face off against Geneva County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wicksburg, they will challenge Ashford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
