Richard Hoppe and Gatlin Blakely provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Middletown. The connection went for 71 yards, the longest such play in North Central I this season.
Fort Bragg moved up to 639 from 679 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Timberwolves climbed the ranks as a result of besting Kelseyville 24-8.
St. Helena's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hoppe threw for 337 and four touchdowns and Danny Brink had 127 yards receiving. On the ground Sebastian Segura chipped in 104 yards. Joey Brink helped St. Helena's passing attack out by catching four balls for 121 yards.
The Saints' Hoppe and Brink have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hoppe has thrown for 1223 yards this season, while Brink, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 20 catches for 473 yards. The Knights' Robert McLean leads the league in rushing yards with 563.
A big matchup in North Central I this week will be when Fort Bragg takes on Willits. At the moment, Roy Perkins' team is in second, while the Wolverines are in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Timberwolves take on Willits. Fort Bragg has allowed 61 points this season, while Nat Collicott's team has given up 61. The Timberwolves allowed 8 points last week as they topped Kelseyville.
St. Helena extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Mustangs, 42-21. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
