Baseball Recap: Conemaugh Valley Takes a Loss

Conemaugh Valley had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-5 to make it five. They fell 7-2 to the Blacklick Valley Vikings. The Blue Jays were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Conemaugh Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeremy Dietz, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Blacklick Valley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games.

On Blacklick Valley's side, Landon Turcheck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eli Sheesley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Nedrich, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Conemaugh Valley is taking a road trip to face off against Portage at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Blacklick Valley, they will host Turkeyfoot Valley Area at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
