Baseball Recap: Hammondsport Lakers vs. Naples Big Green Machines

Hammondsport had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 0-5 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Naples Big Green Machines by a score of 7-5. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Lakers who fell 5-3 when the teams previously met back in May of 2024.

As for Naples, their record now sits at 2-4. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Hammondsport: they've now won six in a row.

For Naples' part, Hunter Jacoby was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk).
