Recap: Music Mountain Warriors vs. Red Mesa Redskins
The Music Mountain Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Red Mesa, falling 75-20.
Red Mesa got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tianna Bradley out in front who scored 17 points along with four steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Shyla Pipkin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Music Mountain bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.3 points per game. As for Red Mesa, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Music Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rock Point at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. Rock Point presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Music Mountain in Arizona (Rock Point is ranked 137th, while Music Mountain is ranked 285th). As for Red Mesa, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Seligman at 3:00 p.m. on December 20th. Seligman comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
