Basketball Recap: Monroe County Skates Past Excel with Ease

Monroe County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Excel Panthers 62-19. That 43 point margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Uri Guy, who went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points and six boards. Guy is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kendall Plunkett, who posted five points in addition to 14 rebounds and three steals.

Monroe County's victory bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Excel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-18.

As of now, neither Monroe County nor Excel have any future games scheduled.
