Volleyball Recap: Carl Hayden Community Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McClintock, Carl Hayden Community was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Fairfax Stampede. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Stampede: they've now won three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-27, 25-11, 25-16.

Adrian Pita Guaydacan had a dynamite game, getting 18 digs and three aces. What's more, he posted two assists, the most he's had over his last seven contests. Martin Cervantes also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Carl Hayden Community was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairfax only served four aces.

Carl Hayden Community's record now sits at 8-13. As for Fairfax, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-18.

Coincidentally, Carl Hayden Community and Fairfax will both be playing Alhambra the next time they take the court. The Stampede will head out to face the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Falcons will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
