Basketball Recap: Adams Comes Up Short

Adams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wilson Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1238th, while the Wildcats are ranked 393rd).

Despite the defeat, Adams saw an underclassman step up: freshman Chris Robinson dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. Victor Offord was another key player, putting up eight points.

Wilson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Armstrong out in front who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Damiran Smith, who earned ten points.

Adams' loss dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Wilson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-15 record this season.

Adams wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 80-31 defeat against West Mesquite on the 11th. As for Wilson, they have also already played their next contest, a 77-58 loss against North Mesquite on the 11th.
