Volleyball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tuscola on Thursday, Madison came back down to earth. The Patriots lost 3-0 to the Asheville School (Independent) Blues on Tuesday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blues apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Madison was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Asheville School (Independent) work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-23, 27-25, 25-21.

Eva Greer paced Madison's offense, picking up nine kills. Greer got some help from Meredith Gault and her 21 assists. Gault was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Madison now has a losing record of 1-2.

Madison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against North Buncombe on the 20th. As for Asheville School (Independent), they will challenge Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
