Basketball Recap: Breckenridge Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Breckenridge won the last time they faced Ashley and things went their way on Monday too. The Breckenridge Huskies walked away with a 42-29 win over the Ashley Bears. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karissa Brady, who posted nine points and five rebounds. Brady has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellie Drummond, who scored 11 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Breckenridge pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Ashley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Looking ahead, Breckenridge won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Vestaburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Breckenridge is facing Vestaburg at the right time seeing as Vestaburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Ashley, they will challenge Owendale-Gagetown at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
