Baseball Recap: Spring Grove Comes Up Short

After flying high against West York Area on Tuesday, Spring Grove came back down to earth. The Rockets fell just short of the Central York Panthers by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The Rockets have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Konner Marshall made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Holden Gobrecht also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Spring Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11-1. As for Central York, their record is now 9-10.

Looking ahead, Spring Grove will face off against Greencastle-Antrim at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Rockets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Central York, they will take on Cedar Crest at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
