Volleyball Recap: Caney Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Lauryn Davidson and Emma Marshall

Caney Valley was the 2-1 winner over Galena when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Bullpups took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Caney Valley was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21.

Emma Marshall and Lauryn Davidson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Marshall had 19 assists, while Davidson had ten digs. Davidson has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

Caney Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-15 record this season. As for Galena, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-10 record this season.

Caney Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Chaparral on the 20th. As for Galena, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Parsons on the 16th.
