Basketball Recap: Brocton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Brocton and Westfield squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Brocton had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Westfield Wolverines 89-51. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, with their most recent loss being a 87-42 defeat back in February.

It was another big night for Carson Swanson, who almost dropped a triple-double with 47 points, 11 boards, and nine assists for Westfield. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Swanson has scored at least a third of Westfield's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Maguire, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds.

Brocton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. The victory (which was Westfield's sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

As of now, neither Brocton nor Westfield have any future games scheduled.
