Volleyball Recap: Roncalli Gets the Win

Roncalli's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the Two Rivers Purple Raiders 3-2. The Jets haven't had any issues with the Purple Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Roncalli had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 18-16.

Madison Keller paced Roncalli's offense, picking up 11 kills. Keller got some help from Aubri Riesterer and her 23 assists. Addison Manis controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Natalie Weier and Alexia Bielinski certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Weier had 23 digs and two aces, while Bielinski had six digs and two aces.

Roncalli's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Two Rivers, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Roncalli and Brillion will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Two Rivers, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Hilbert on the 4th.
