Football Recap: Concord Bears vs. Encinal Jets

Concord won the last time they faced Encinal and things went their way on Friday too. The Bears breezed past the Jets to the tune of 42-14. Considering the Bears have won three matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Juan Gonzalez had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 202 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes, while also punching in one score on the ground. Concord's leading receiver Erik Madayag was Gonzalez's top target yet again, picking up 104 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Concord is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points over those games. Diablo will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. This will be the Bears' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Encinal, they will take on San Lorenzo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will also give the Jets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
