Armaan Sen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Nick DeBlock was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Connor Krause was another key player, scoring six runs while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.
Illiana Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .788. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hobart unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Hanover Central, falling 14-4.
Donio Pimentel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Hobart's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Illiana Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Illiana Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .533. However, it's not like Hobart struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
