Baseball Recap: Washtenaw Christian Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Britton Deerfield

Washtenaw Christian Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 16-9 to the Britton Deerfield Patriots on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Benedict Deemer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Salvador Toledo, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Britton Deerfield's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washtenaw Christian Academy will take on Faith Christian at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. Washtenaw Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Faith Christian has averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season. As for Britton Deerfield, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Erie-Mason at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
