Basketball Recap: Cave Spring Takes a Loss

Cave Spring was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Hidden Valley Titans, falling 57-29. The Knights were down 40-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Hidden Valley was led to victory by Avery Tanis and Kelsey Dudley. Tanis dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards, while Dudley posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Tanis has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Natalee Bowling was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Cave Spring's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Hidden Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Cave Spring didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 38-34 defeat against Northside on the 20th. As for Hidden Valley, they will head out to square off against Christiansburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hidden Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.
