Basketball Recap: Luke Childers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pine Hills Adventist over Paradise Adventist Academy

After flying high against Capital College & Career Academy on Tuesday, Pine Hills Adventist came back down to earth. The Pine Hills Adventist Eagles came up short against the Paradise Adventist Academy Cougars on Wednesday, falling 56-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since December 2, 2024.

Pine Hills Adventist lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Luke Childers, who shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave Childers a new career-high. Tyler Gatling was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Pine Hills Adventist's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Paradise Adventist Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Pine Hills Adventist Eagles challenge the Forest Lake Christian Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Paradise Adventist Academy has already played their next game (against Princeton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
