Basketball Recap: Newbury Park Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cabrillo on Friday, Newbury Park came back down to earth. The Panthers were outmatched by the Thousand Oaks Lancers and fell 87-50. The Panthers lost against the Lancers in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 63-48 score last time.

Newbury Park's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Thousand Oaks, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newbury Park will welcome Mira Costa at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 55 points in their last six games. Thousand Oaks will take on Simi Valley in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th.
