Baseball Recap: Timberlake Takes a Loss

Timberlake had lost seven straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 18-16 to make it eight. They came up short against the Oklahoma Bible Trojans, falling 17-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Oklahoma Bible, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season. Considering they have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Oklahoma Bible's part, Andrew Campbell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Campbell has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Jacob Buller looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Jacoby Justus was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Oklahoma Bible is undefeated when Justus posts two or more runs, but 12-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ben Burrell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As of now, neither Timberlake nor Oklahoma Bible have any future games scheduled.
