            Baseball Recap: Appleton West Terrors vs. Fond du Lac Cardinals        
        
		
        
        
            After losing to Fond du Lac the last time they met, Appleton West decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Terrors walked away with  a   5-2  victory over the Cardinals  on Tuesday.

 Loren Georger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and two  RBI. Those  three  hits gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Dimitry Edmunds was  excellent,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base. He has become a key player for Appleton West: the team is 3-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 3-10 otherwise.
Appleton West has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Fond du Lac, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Appleton West will welcome Oshkosh West  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Fond du Lac, they will be playing at home against Bay Port  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
