Football Recap: Hagan Slimp's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crisp County over Appling County + How To Watch

After flying high against Tattnall County last Friday, Crisp County came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Appling County Pirates by a score of 29-27 on Friday. The Cougars have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Crisp County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hagan Slimp, who threw for 115 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 32 yards.

Jaiden Knight was his usual excellent self, rushing for 110 yards and three scores, while also picking up 42 receiving yards for Appling County. Knight's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 110 rushing yards.

Crisp County's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Appling County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.
