Softball Recap: Modoc Comes Up Short

After flying high against Loyalton on Friday, Modoc came back down to earth. Modoc came up short against the St. Bernard's Crusaders on Saturday, falling 10-1.

Modoc saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caelli DePaul, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Even though they lost, Modoc hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Modoc now has a losing record of 2-3. As for St. Bernard's, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Modoc will take on Los Molinos in a tournament on Saturday. As for St. Bernard's, they will be taking part in a tournament against Biggs at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Biggs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something St. Bernard's surely won't give up without a fight.
